Aspire to Achieve
Ably led by Associate Leader Mr Abusef, our Main School Assemblies this week fed into our overall school motto and theme of Achievement. Aspiring to achieve is at the heart and centre of all success and is something we want to develop in all our learners. Mr Abusef reminded students that achievement is much more than gaining academic qualifications, but is about developing those all important character traits and life skills necessary for life byeond school; aiming for excellent attendance, developing resilience, a hard working spirit and kind attitude, amongst many other skills and attributes.
He reminded students of the need to follow our Keys to Success displayed in every classroom across the school community each and every day and also encouraged students to get involved in some of the many and varied extra-curricular activities on offer – not least some of the amazing STEM related clubs which will undoubtedly help to prepare our students for life in the 21st Century, with all its fast-paced technological advances.
The well-crafted assembly ended in celebrating the 100 students who successfully completed the Get Ahead and Progress (GAP) programme this year launched in July and handed in their GAP cards in September to gain a prestigious GAP Certificate and opportunity to go on the brilliant GAP Rewards Trip to Thorpe Park which took place just before the recent half term holdiay.
We would like to congratulate all the students who received an award and would like to encourage many more to get involved in the GAP programme next year.
