DIRT at BMS!
DIRT or Dedicated Improvement and Reflection Time was the topic of last Friday’s Friday Faculty Focus and was led by two of our talented and hard working Early Career Teachers or ECTs.
They reminded all staff of the importance of DIRT and provided some superb examples of how they had used those powerful times in lessons where students are encouraged to reflect on a particular aspect of assessment (whether teacher, peer, self or verbal) and then used that feedback to improve their work – moving it smartly to the next level.
DIRT is a key aspect of constantly making progress in learning and is an embedded part of all teachers’ practice at the school. It was great to be reminded of how we can use DIRT smartly to ensure all students are making effective progress in lessons.
