In October 2022, the BMS Technology Faculty launched the first IT STEM club which has been running every Friday lunch time in room F4. The club opens to all Year groups, no special computing skills or knowledge are required from the students, any students can just come and enjoy themselves to learn any ICT and computing skills.
Now in the year 2024, the IT STEM club has grown in size slowly. Recently we have had a lively atmosphere during some Friday lunch time. For example, we have:
The variety of activities have attracted some Year 10 and Year 11 students to watch what was going on in room F4, they found the drone flying fascinating and stayed and watched.
It was an enjoyable lunch time where we had students across different year groups learning to improve their programming skills, website editing skills and graphic editing skills. All the students were behaving respectfully despite they were from different year groups.
I am pleased that the school is able to provide an IT STEM club for those students who enjoy learning about ICT and computing and hopefully these students aspire to venture into the computing field as their chosen career.
