International Women’s Day –...

Today some of our students had the wonderful opportunity to attend an event to celebrate International Women’s Day. They got the opportunity to hone their football skills with some drills with Watford Coaches and join in group discussions with girls from other schools about challenges girls face in sports.

The day culminated in a Q+A session with Frances Lynn, co-founder Women of Watford (a supporters club to encourage women’s  attendance to football  matches) and  Helen Ward-General Manager of Watford’s  Women’s team, in her career she has played for Arsenal and Wales. As of October 2021, Ward was the all-time top scorer for Wales with 44 goals in 99 appearances.
We all had a great time and the girls did Bushey Meads proud.
