Into the Sixth Form Evening
It was encouraging to be able to welcome so many of our Year 11 students with their parents and carers, and also a good number of external visitors from local schools, to our annual Into the Sixth Form Evening held on Tuesday of this week.
After an inspiring presentation from Assistant Headteacher Miss Silla, who oversees the Sixth Form at Bushey Meads, the visitors toured the newly refurbished Sixth Form Centre, sampled taster food in the SIxth Form Cafe and spent the evening talking to key leaders across a whole range of different subject areas, all offering a truly eclectic range of sixth form course at Post 16 level. There is something for everyone and a whole lot more besides.
Our outstanding Sixth Form is unique and offers so much more than just a great education as a stepping stone to success in the workplace, higher education or higher level apprenticeships.
Our Sixth Form students love the SIxth Form Enrichment programme, the embedded Kindness Matters Scheme, the opportunity to take an Extended Project Qualification to further enhance UCAS points and prepare for the world of research and work, as well as the numerous opportunities to step up to a whole multitude of leadership opportunities as the senior students and role models for others in our fabulous school.
The evening was complimented by our annual Sixth Form Taster Lesson Day on Friday of this week – an opportunity for our Year 11 students to try out subjects they are considering studying at Post 16. We do wish all our Year 11 students every success at this crucial time of year as they carefully plan their key next steps.
