As a school and a Multi Academy Trust we continue to secure outstanding keynote speakers to inspire our staff and underpin the strong culture of sharing best practice that we have all contributed to over many years.
On Monday of this week we held our annual conference for the Bushey St James Trust and also welcomed a number of delegates from local schools keen to join us for the day.
Under the theme of Establishing Engaging and Enriching Experiences there was a real emphasis on collaboration and sharing best practice to enhance the experiences for students in our classrooms. So it was superb to have Cat Scutts with us to launch the day. She is currently the Deputy Chief Executive, Education and Research at the Chartered College of Teaching, as well as the Independent Chair for the Cornwall Education Partnership.
The day started in the Main Hall reflecting on the latest research that underpins strong cultures in schools and reminding us of the need to collaborate and continue to learn from others around us. Table discussions and Cat’s presentation led into some superb workshops given by expert practitioners from across the Multi Academy Trust on a whole host of different themes.
A plenary at the end of the day captured the plans that are being put in place to move the theme forward over the next few months in all three schools with the MAT.
The feedback from all delegates was overwhelmingly positive and I would like to thank all the staff who made the day possible – especially Senior Lead Practitioner Mrs Hoskins and Lead Practitioner Miss Pattni, as well as Assistant Headteacher Ms Giannone from Little Reddings Primary School and Deputy Headteacher Mr Harper from Hartsbourne Primary School.
