Prisha – Champion of Champions!

I was delighted this week to learn that one of our Year 9 students Prisha achieved an amazing accolade last week at a long distance swimming event – the Dover ‘Champion of Champions.’ This prestigious competition takes place in one of the most challenging swimming venues in the country; one of the key challenges is coping with the water temperature which has averaged 14 degrees Celsius over the last 10 years!

Prisha is a talented long distance swimmer and successfully completed the 9 mile course in 5 hours and 45 minutes. The swim was made more difficult on the day due to changing weather conditions and high winds that made the water particularly choppy. In contrast to a number of experienced swimmers who unfortunately had to give up due to the extreme weather conditions, Prisha battled through to receive her well-deserved award.

Congratulations Priya from all of us at BMS!
