Student Leadership in the LRC

Once again, our team of student librarians are proving invaluable in the LRC.

Owen and Nathan have taken on the shared role of Senior Head Librarians, arranging the rota of desk duties for morning break and lunchtime to minimise cross-year group contact and training new recruits Charlotte and Akhil.

Roles have expanded this year to include managing the safe use of the LRC: reminding students to disinfect and sanitise their areas and overseeing the quarantine of books for 72 hours after use.

In addition to issuing and returning books, the team have been helping to catalogue and process new stock, and even sending out emails to remind people of any books that are overdue and helping with supervision of the LRC as well.

Our students have really risen to the challenge and keep our LRC running efficiently. Please help us by responding to any emails regarding overdue books, coming to talk to one of us if you think you have already returned a book or have mislaid it. In the event that you borrow a book when no one is at the desk, please write your name and the book’s title/barcode number (inside the front cover) in the book by the perspex screen.

This year’s team are:

Senior Head Librarians: Owen Thomas and Nathan Marriott

Head Librarians: Jhanavi Tiwari and Aman Rahman

Librarians:

  • Pressha Mistry
  • Charlotte Boother-Dominguez
  • Akhil Radhakrishnan
